SpongeBob SquarePants remains the flagship show for ViacomCBS’s Nickelodeon cable TV network. The wild and wacky animated series, which started 22 years ago in 1999, remains highly popular and is currently in its 13th season. So it was natural for ViacomCBS to offer SpongeBob at Paramount Plus, its recently relaunched streaming service (replacing CBS All Access).

Best of SpongeBob at Paramount Plus
SpongeBob, his best friend Patrick, and his neighbor Squidward get lost in a kelp forest. That’s really all the setup you need to know to enjoy this episode. It gets weirder and weirder as Squidward tries to find a way to get out of the forest, while SpongeBob and Patrick, in their own “club” follow what a “Magic Conch Shell” tells them to do. It’s like Lord of the Flies, but with lots more silliness.
SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward board the ghost ship of the Flying Dutchman, and hilarity ensues. This episode was notable for allowing the original viewers of this segment to vote on the final ending from three choices, although the version on Paramount Plus just has the one the was finally chosen.
Dying For Pie
The title of this episode should be taken literally. SpongeBob eats a pie that, unbeknownst to him, is actually a bomb (don’t ask, just watch). It will likely kill him before the end of the day. There’s lots of tension as well as comedy in this segment as Squidward awaits what he believes will be SpongeBob’s final fate.
Welcome to the Chum Bucket
Fans of the series know that SpongeBob loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab restaurant. This segment shows that status quo going by the wayside as SpongeBob’s boss, Mr. Krabs, loses a bet. As a result, SpongeBob is forced to leave the Krusty Krab and work as its rival’s restaurant, the Chum Bucket.
The Nasty Patty of this segment’s title is a horrifying version of the Krabby Patty burger. SpongeBob makes the Nasty version via the order of Mr. Krabs, who believes that a health inspector that’s come to the restaurant is an impostor. However, things quickly escalate into a ton of misunderstandings, and of course, that makes it funny and one of the best examples of SpongeBob at Paramount Plus.
Krusty Krab Training Video
.This is a version of SpongeBob at Paramount Plus that is definitely different. It’s basically a training film for new employees at the Krusty Krab. This shift in perspective offers up some classically funny moments as we see how you and I could be hired by Mr. Krabs to possibly make our own Krabby Patty.
Chocolate With Nuts
SpongeBob and Patrick decide to go into business for themselves as they sell chocolate bars from door to door. Things do not go as planned as they are unable to sell their chocolate to their customers. The duo’s different attempts to unload their chocolate makes this a very funny segment.
Squidward is trying to impress a former classmate by forming a band, and goes looking for members. However, he soon learns that his bandmates, which include SpongeBob and Patrick, have no musical experience. Will Squidward be able to face his former classmate? This is a great episode that puts the focus on Squidward for once.
Mr. Krabs decides to make the Krusty Krab a 24-hour restaurant. Naturally, SpongeBob loves the idea of working a night shift at first. However, both he and Squidward soon have to deal with some very scary visitors.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
There have been three SpongeBob Squarepants feature films so far, but right now Paramount Plus only has the third movie, which was released in 2021. It’s also a Paramount Plus exclusive in the US. The main plot of this CGI animated film is for SpongeBob and Patrick to rescue Gary, SpongeBob’s pet snail. Gary’s been taken to the Lost City of Atlantic City, and only SpongeBob can get him back. We also get some flashbacks to when SpongeBob and Gary first met at Kamp Koral.
SpongeBob at Paramount Plus spin-off: Kamp Koral
This is the first true TV series spinoff of SpongeBob SquarePants. It’s also a Paramount Plus exclusive. It shows the very young SpongeBob with even more adventures with his friends at Kamp Koral. It also retains the CGI animation style of Sponge on the Run. You can watch the first six episodes now, and 20 more episodes will be added to the service in the coming months.
Upcoming: The Patrick Star Show
ViacomCBS will launch yet another spin-off show on Nickelodeon this summer, and it will stream on Paramount Plus later. It will focus on a younger version of SpongeBob’s friend Patrick, who hosts his own TV show while also living with his family.
That’s the best of SpongeBob at Paramount Plus. We will add more segments to this article in the coming months.
