Did the camera glass on your Galaxy S20 break without warning? If so, you might get some compensation… eventually. Users have filed a class action lawsuit against Samsung accusing the company of hiding a “widespread defect” in the camera glass on all Galaxy S20 models, including the Ultra and FE.
The lawsuit alleges that Samsung breached its warranty, committed fraud, and broke “several” consumer protection laws by selling Galaxy S20 phones whose camera glass shattered without warning or abuse. Samsung has reportedly refused to cover the problem under warranty even though its staff were aware of the flaw. A Care Ambassador said in a forum that it was due to “pressure buildup” under the glass, according to the plaintiffs’ attorneys at Hagens Berman.
Customers have had to pay as much as $400 for repairs, only to have the glass break again.
If the lawsuit moves forward and obtains class action status, attorneys would seek repayment for Galaxy S20 repairs, compensation for “loss of value,” and further damages.

The lawsuit could be good news for those who’ve paid to have their Galaxy S20 fixed. Don’t expect to receive a large or timely payout even if lawyers emerge victorious, though. There’s usually an extended claims period after a verdict or settlement, and payments are often diluted by attorney costs and the sheer number of claimants. There’s no guarantee you’ll get enough to cover repairs, let alone to soften the blow of buying a new phone.
