Now is a good time to spring for new streaming hardware if your TV’s built-in apps just aren’t cutting it. Amazon has discounted several streaming devices as part of its Prime Day sales, including some of its own products. You can get a Fire TV Stick 4K for $24.99, or half its usual price — and if you’re eager to try some cloud gaming, you can buy the Stick in a bundle with a Luna Controller for $73.98, or $47 off.
There are solid Prime Day deals if you’d rather get a third-party streaming device. The standard Nvidia Shield is on sale for $124.99 ($25 off) if performance is important. Roku players are also particularly affordable, with the latest Express 4K Plus selling for $29.99 ($10 off) and the Streaming Stick Plus available for $39 ($11 off).
Spare-no-expense streaming enthusiasts can buy the latest Apple TV 4K model with 32GB of storage for $169 ($10 off) during the Prime Day sale, while TiVo fans can pick up a Stream 4K for $29 ($11 off).
As a rule, it would be difficult to go wrong picking any of these streaming devices during the Prime Day promo. The Fire TV Stick 4K, Roku products, and Stream 4K all offer modern streaming experiences at very low prices, while the Apple TV 4K and Nvidia Shield are powerful machines for those who might play games and otherwise venture beyond media apps.
